We travel through central Scotland admiring the beautiful scenery arriving at Perth, the gateway to the Highlands, for your morning coffee stop. After a short drive we arrive at Blair Castle, This castle has been the seat of the Dukes of Atholl for over 700 years.
The Castle is set in dramatic scenery and magnificent grounds. Historically it commanded a strategic position on the way to the Highlands of Scotland. To the skirl of the pipes, guests can visit more than 30 rooms of the castle. The rooms contain a magnificent collection of art, furniture, china and arms. Blair Castle is the home of the Atholl Highlanders, Europe’s only remaining private army.
After leaving Blair Castle free time is available to have lunch in Pitlochry before visiting a famous distillery in the afternoon. After a conducted tour you can mull over the distinctive character of the finished article as you enjoy a complimentary dram.
After a pleasant day sampling Scottish Hospitality we arrive in Edinburgh by way of the magnificent Forth Rail Bridge.
