Inveraray Castle

Oban & The West Highlands

Scotland’s West Coast is one of the most beautiful areas of Scotland.

The journey to Oban takes you from the east coast to the west coast encompassing scenery that Scotland is famous for, pretty Highland villages, castles and lochs.

Views include Stirling Castle and the famous Wallace Monument. After a Coffee stop our scenic drive will take us through Glen Lochy before arriving at Loch Awe famous for the photogenic 15th Century ruins of Kilchurn Castle.

Travelling to Oban we stop at Dunstaffnage Castle for a photograph, then it is time for lunch. Oban Oban is a busy bustling harbour town where during the 18th and 19th centuries many thousands of Scots emigrated from here. Here harbour fishing boats come and go, as do Island Ferries and the occasional seal. Above the town is McCaigs Folly, Scotland’s only amphitheatre. It was started in the 19th century but never completed, views from here are spectacular.

Our return journey stops in Inveraray on the banks of Loch Fyne. This charming little town with distinctive white houses and fairy-tale Castle dates back to 1746 and is the home of the Clan Campbell. This little town retains much of its 18th century charm.

The road continues along Loch Fyne famous for its oysters to arrive at a beauty spot called Rest And Be Thankful where we make a photo stop. Our tour shows you Scotland at its best.
